Warm Apple Pimms: gently spiced with cinnamon and flavoured with dark rum for an extra kick, this is the perfect alternative to mulled wine!
Guess who won’t be winning any awards for inventive drinks naming? Hey, it does what it says on the tin: warm apple Pimms!
I can’t quite bring myself to start the mulled wine drinking until we hit December. That said, I am totally ready for warm, boozy drinks!
I’d never thought of warm Pimms til I visited a friend in Newcastle last weekend. We went to a Christmas fair with the cutest little Pimms bus. Serving this exact drink, which I was super excited to try!
Sadly they’d ran out when we arrived (a good sign, but unfortunate for us) so I’ve tried to recreate the drink at home. I think I’ve done preeetty well, if I say so myself.
Can we all agree that warm cocktails should be more of a thing in winter, and not just reserved for Christmas?
Being warm, this feels like a totally acceptable Sunday evening nightcap. After all, it’s basically the same as a cup of tea… right?
It’s also almost as easy. You start by warming cinnamon, apple juice & orange on the stove. Add a generous glug of Pimms & dark rum to your mug and top with the spiced apple juice. Simple!
If you’re not into mulled wine, make sure you give this a try. It’s still got the spiced flavours but has a sweeter, fruity taste. Perfect for something a little different but equally cosy!
