If you’ve been reading for a while you might know that I’ve been getting involved with The Great Blogger Bake Off – basically an excuse for myself and some other bloggers to share a recipe in line with the GBBO theme each Wednesday. As if baking something new every weekend for the last 10 weeks hasn’t been sugar-coma-inducing enough, I now have a list as long as my arm of new things to try after ogling everyone else’s recipes! Here are a few of my favourites from the last ten weeks…Jaclyn’s Dark Chocolate & Orange Viennese Whirls
I’m a sucker for chocolate orange anything. I almost cried with joy the first time I tried chocolate orange ice cream (I’ll share the recipe for that soon!), so you can imagine my delight when this popped up on my bloglovin’ feed a few week’s ago. Not only do these sound wonderful, but Jaclyn’s photographs are stunning and basically make me want these in my face. right. now.
Hannah’s Miniature Damson Gin Cakes
Gin and cake – need I say any more!? It’s practically a scientifically proven fact that anything in miniature form is instantly ten times cuter. When it comes to cake it also means you can get away with eating 5 in one go – that’s a win-win situation if ever I heard of one! Hannah’s also got recipes coming up for the other mini bakes in the photo above, including chai, chilli and chocolate cakes. YUM.Laura’s Haunted Halloween Cake
The whole Great Blogger Bake Off thing was Laura’s idea so I’ve got her to blame thank for the frankly stupid amount of cake I’ve consumed since August. All of her bakes have been fantastically creative but this halloween one is my absolute favourite. Just look at those cute little meringue ghosts!!
Megan’s Caramel Butternut Squash Pie
I have to be honest, butternut squash isn’t something I’d automatically think to pair with caramel, but this pie both looks and sounds so inviting. The little pastry stars are super cute and I think when i work up the courage to attempt pastry again I’ll be following Megan’s shortcrust recipe.
Charlotte’s Key Lime Pie
Anyone who knows me will know that chocolate is the key to my heart, but now and then something a little lighter is called for. In those moments, key lime pie is up there! I’ve always imagined it to be a really tricky dessert to make but Charlotte’s recipe looks pretty straightforward – always a bonus!
Cassie’s Chocolate Amaretto Schichttorte
This was one of my favourite recipes on GBBO, purely because the finished cake looks so impressive! I’m sure even Paul would be chuffed with Cassie’s bake – I know I’ll certainly be pleased if I end up with one that looks anything like this!
Hopefully that’s plenty of bakes to keep you going for a while! You can see the rest of my bake off recipes here, or check out the rest of the Great Blogger Bake Off posts on facebook and twitter!

I’m so impressed by all those glorious cakes! What a fun blogger collaboration to have done. They all look worthy of The Tent itself!

Aren’t they great? It was so much fun – I would never have thought to try half the things I did if it weren’t for this!

I’ve just this minute ate a doughnut but now I’m craving more cake! They all look delish but I’d choose the gin cakes to try first 😛 x
